William Glendinning is a London based tenor whose repertoire stretches from Byrd to Bellini, and J Bach to J Barry. He is a sought after ensemble singer and is a Lay Clerk at St. Albans Cathedral, having been a choral scholar at St. Mary's, Nottingham. William performs regularly with Venice-based L'Offerta Musicale performing Renaissance and Baroque repertoire in a concert and education series across Italy. He returns to Torcello in August to perform Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers. 

 

 

William performs a variety of oratorio and concert works, including Puccini's Messa di Gloria with Barnet Choral Society, 1st Israelite in Handel's Esther with the Elia Ensemble at the Proms at St Jude's, and has frequently performed as the tenor soloist in Handel's Messiah, most recently at Birmingham Cathedral alongside  Charlotte Sleet. Operatic roles include Lysander (Midsummer Night's Dream, Trinity Laban) and Prince Phillipe (A Dinner Engagement, Opera Dinamica). Chorus work includes Turandot (Opera Northern Ireland)The Rake's Progress (Bury Court Opera) and Carmen (Winslow Hall Opera). 

William holds a Master of Music degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where he studied as a Leverhulme Arts Scholar under Sophie Grimmer and Rianka Bouwmeester. He now studies privately with James Platt.
